Lightbulb Work Wheels on Blue tC

So its finally time to buy wheels. Car will be locked up for the winter so theres no worries of snow damaging the wheels.

I'm thinking bronze on blue is a good color combination...and now I'm having trouble choosing what wheels I want.

I really like the Work Emotion XD-9 in 18" x 9 (because 10" is too wide and they dont make 9.5")

They come in the following offsets
+43 +38 +30 +20

other choices include Work Emotion CR-Kai in 18" x 9.5

+38 +30 +20 +12

what is the optimal offset? I have stock calipers.

if anyone can recommend another bronze wheel (with exception of BBS, or anything 3-piece, let me know)

I'll be wrapping them in Michelins.

why did you go with the +30's instead of the +38?

I know +43's might be cutting it too close.

oh, and lugs are still free. Do they have a wheel lock?

Optimal for flushness or maintaining the same forces exerted in the axle ball bearing?

+20 and +12 are no good they will completely change the handling/forces on the bearing

first i bought +38. but it's not flush enough for me. and everyone HERE said i should have got the +30. i asked the guy where i bought if i can switch it to +30. he said to bring it there, they'll send it to works so that they can check if it's okay with works. i got the good news, works approve to switch it to +30. added less than $100 to the original payment(from the +38 ). oh and no tax by paying cash. which saves me more than $100... :D

so lower offset costs more? The shops I'm looking at charge the same no matter the offset. Do you have before and after pictures?

so I guess the question is +43 +38 +30?

wheels with lips usually have lower offsets - so usually wheels with lips will be more flush. just by looking at numbers 30 should be the best for flushness. Ill do some calculations later. what are you dropped on?

oh shnaps i forgot, first is "8.5" +38 that's why its cheaper.

+30 has deeper concave than +38 btw...
no lip on cr kai's...

it's on my build thread.
click my sig...

oh and i forgot who it is, but someone bought cr-kai's bronze before me. his car is blue as well...

hey mr. black 'n blue, will you calculate mine too? lolz 18x9.5 +30. TRD springs. i'll put 235/40 or 245/40. thanks

I'd go with the +30. If you want to see how the CR Kai's in Bronze look like on a Nautical Blue Metallic tC2, check out my build thread on the last page or so. They aren't the same size, although, I am running spacers. 15mm up front and 25mm rear.

+30 it is then!

the xd9's look really good on this camry.

And I'm not dropped on anything. I'll probably drop 1" in the summer on TRD springs. I don't want to have to roll fenders...

Emotion 11r is a nice choice too.

Between those 2..really for me it boils down to either you want a wheel with a lip (XD9) or do you prefer a concave face (cr kai)

I prefer the lip, and straight even spokes. I put them on my tC in forza and am liking the look of them.

Also I dont want my wheels to stick out (the rear is already wide enough), so flushness is essential.

Here's the spec sheet. I can't find a +32 flat face...

I think I'll be going for a bronze wheel with some lip

Most likely. Unless something else catches my eye.
