i just got back from my first road trip in my new xa, only to find that the front now has a dozen or so miniscule rock chips outta the paint. so, naturally i would like to add a car bra to my list of accesories to protect from this sort of thing.

the bra that scion offered as an offical accesory is the "sport" bra type, that just has the little cover on the hood itself, but i want the full frontal coverage. i cant find such a thing for the 06 xa (for that matter, can barely find any acessories for the 06, only 05), will the 05 bra fit the 06? has the design changed at all? can anyone verify how well it would fit?

 

those bras should fit the same... also another option that i've seen done is a clear bra. it's possible to cover your entire front using that.

 

Do you mean the stuff called Rockblocker? I hear that is real good!

 

I was going to put some clear bra stuff on my xA like I have on my corvette. It's invaluable for protecting the front of your car from chips and sand blasting (ie: driving in northern winters), etc. Except that before I even had a chance to book the xA in I had paint chips through to the metal No point covering those up until the chips are fixed.

The paint's a joke on these cars. Put a clear bra on before you ever drive a mile.

Thing I don't understand about the clear bra's is how can they not damage the paint themselves - I'm sure they will eventually become cracked or brittle from the elements, then won't the areas they cover look really bad, or worse actually remove the paint tehy are stuck to if they are taken off?
