Default '06 xA Mudguards

Did some research and came up with a couple of threads about mudguards for the '06 xA, but not the info I'm looking for. Unlike the '04/'05 which came with front mudguards from the factory and rears as a dealer option, the '06 only comes with dealer-optioned rear mudguards....no fronts at all.

Here's my question: Has anyone actually tried to fit '04/'05 front guards on the front of an '06? Yes, I know there is a difference in the shape of the rocker panel area between the two, but it just may work.

Maybe someone out there could pull one off and check. It's only held on by two screws.

Opinions?

Im looking for options for front mud guards as well. If anyone finds anything that will work and match up with the factory ones in back please do tell.

Would a cardboard tracing help you out? I'll gladly take mine off and trace it on some thin cardboard and mail it to you...

Much appreciated!!!

However, I found a wrecked '04 at a local dealer this weekend and it looks like it's not going to work. That area extends down a little more than the '06.

Not giving up though. I will figure something out.

I have an 06 xA with the dealer installed rear mudguards. When I ordered them, I asked the parts and service dept. at my Scion dealer if the 04/05 front mudguards would fit my 06. If so, I wanted to order a set of those too. I was told they had gotten in a set of the 04/05 units and tried to install them on a 06 with NO sucess. The rocker panel on the 06 was NOT compatable with them. I know many parts stores sell generic size black mudguards and possibly they could be cut to fit. I haven't tried that. Please let me know if you figure out an alternative solution. I would be interested as well.
