Default 2006 Scion xA Passenger Side Mirror Attachment Piece?

Hi, I recently knocked off the passenger side mirror of my 2006 Scion xA. However, there is absolutely no damage to the actual mirror, the lights and mirror work and aren't even scratched. It's only the plastic piece that the screws attach to that is broken. I'm going to post pictures as soon as I can, but I'm wondering if anyone has any insight to what I should do? I mean, it would be a shame to have to buy a whole new mirror when mine works fine, all I need is the little plastic piece. I tried gorilla glue, but it takes two hours to dry and I'd rather get the little plastic piece if possible. Here's a link with someone that had a similar problem if it helps: http://www.yoursciontc.com/forums/11...ew-mirror.html

Default UPDATE: Pictures

These are the pictures of the damage. If you can tell, the damage is only on the actual plastic piece attached to the mirror, not the plastic piece attached to the door. The only thing really broken is the plastic that holds the screws in place, everything else works. If you're wondering what the yellow is, it's gorilla glue. I'm not having luck with the glue, but if I can't fix it any other way, it'll have to do.

UPDATE: I fixed it with the proper tools, some gorilla glue, and some patience. It looks like nothing ever happened, and the electric components still work.

Default Update

So it's been ten months and my sister ran into it and knocked it off. It looks like it's going to be harder to glue this time so if anyone could help me find where I could replace this specific part in the picture. I don't need the whole mirror, only the part in the picture.

Looks like you need Outer mirror cover - part number depends on your car color. Looks to be about $30 from a discounted online dealer metrotoyotapartsnow.com

Thanks, but I don't need a cover, my cover is fine, I just need the piece that holds the mirror to the door, the color wouldn't matter since this piece is black not matter what color car you have and is obscured anyways when assembled. On your diagram, it looks like the piece I need is part of 87910, which is the one selling for $200, which I'm trying to avoid. I'm guessing no one sells it separately, but all I want is a little plastic piece.

Unfortunately, u will need to spend + buy a used mirror from the junk yard or maybe go to a Home Depot/Lowes to get a quick dry 5 min expoxy adhesive to glue your repair, a lot better that Gorrila glue.

Good Luck...........

You can try 3m window weld. It is a silicon that you use on winshield. Autozone sell it for about $20 plus tax. I use it on my retro and works great!

I have a question for you guys that have broke off your mirrors.

How are you supposed to take them off WITHOUT breaking them?
Because I'm planning on some big west-coast style truck mirrors and will cover up that little triangle with some diamond plate aluminum... but how to get off the stock mirrors in good shape so I can sell em to you guys LOL

I think finding a passenger mirror for the Xa is close to impossible. I've been using gorilla tape for a couple months now because paying $250+ for a mirror is absurd!!

I've got both mirrors... black metalflake, all working, some scratches but no bad marks.

How much you wanna pay for em? Send me a PM, I'll go un-bolt the mirrors and box em up.

My mirror is broken in the same spot, sucks!
How did you remove that part from the whole assembly?
Seems like you have to remove the actual mirror, I tucked on it a bit, but was afraid it might break.

If I can get the part out, I might try to model it up in CAD and try to 3D print this thing.

thanks!

I need one of these for my blue scion xa, but I can't seem to find it on the website/link you have.
