Default Factory foglight wiring logic??

Just curious if any of you guys know of any technical/logical/legal reason for why the factory foglights on the xA are wired so they can only be on when the headlights are on and in lowbeam??

not sure of the reasoning but my escort foglights were the same way. I think all factory setups are that way, but may be wrong. Would love to set them up to turn on when I want them on.

I'd want mine on with the parking lights as well as the low beams

It's for D.O.T. legal reasons...

As far as overriding this, there are two ways. You can do it the easy way by grounding the fog switch. This lets you turn them on anytime, but also allows you to accidentally leave them on with no keys in the cars and no "warning chime." The other way is with a relay connected to the parking lights.

There's several threads floating around ScionLife that can walk you through it.

Here's one...

Good luck.
