Looking for exterior mods to "guy up" my xA.

jackie chan drove one of those things through a house once. if that does not make it masculine, i don't know what would.
i get a lot of mud on my car at times, so i like mud flaps. but they really only work well on the front which comes stock anyway.
like get the windows tinted, put a vinyl accent stripe on it, a couple of dragon head decals in the very back side windows (I like dragons and am a big Tolkien fan, plus they will be small) and I think I'll get new springs to lower it some. I bought the xA because I wanted an inexpensive, small car which had a distinctive look, but when everything is said and done, it is just a car. I have not had a new car in 30 years, so this is the first one I've had that is worth modding and so I look upon it as an opportunity. Since I am a guy I may as well mod it to fit my personality, which will not include anything pink. Why would I deliberately make my car look in any way like a chick car since I am not a chick? That's a pretty simple and straightforward concept.
Definately lower your xA...I lowered mine with Tein S-Techs yesterday and took the hubcaps off. Although many don't like the look of the car without the hub caps off I think it looks a hell of a lot better that way IMO. And lowering it is one of the biggest visual enhancements you can do to the xA which makes it look a lot sportier.

beauty rings are a nice way to make bare steelies look good.
you can also paint the hub caps. i recently saw a thread about that here or on scionevolution.org.
in the summer, i ride on bronze konig heliums.
Trust me, if you had this
someone would still tell you to drop it 2 inches and get bigger rims.....

What about a nice subtle pinstripe in a dark blue? It would highlight the tint job as well.
And I bet detail painting all the interior silver in Steve Irwin Blue would really set the insides off!!!!

Some interesting ideas. I am looking towards a type of subtle pinstripe that does emphasize the car's lines. In the small rear, side windows I am thinking of putting a small, red dragon's head just to add a splash of color. I have floormats that have a red dragon's head on them and it is nice to see that bit of color when I open the door. I will be getting the windows tinted in the next few weeks. Simple and inexpensive things like beauty rings and center caps are things I would not have though about. The thing is that there have not been many examples of a 2006 RS 3.0 that has been modded because they are still relatively new.

Sorry about the crappy photoshopping...I'm not particularly good with it.
not bad for a chop. looks like you got the right ideas as to which way you wanna go with the car. just keep us posted i guess check out www.xateam.com
suspension + wheel/tire ... kinda like what everyone else said.
Expect to spend about $1K on each.. to do it right. If you go coil-overs w/other suspension stuff(rear anti-sway bar) - price could get more like $1300+ w/installation.
Also.. also, dont neglect your front lighting, changing that up a bit + fog lights, it changes the front end attitude a bit + its a safety feature - just like the suspension + wheel/tire upgrade/mod.
