painting plastic engine cover
Hey guys, I want to paint the plastic engine cover in my xA because i have a buddy here at school is a crazy artist and thought it'd be cool to have him do something on it before i leave in May...
Only question I've got is that I know they make high-temp engine enamel, I've used it before, but considering I'm painting the plastic, not the metal, is there any paint in particular I should use (or not use) to avoid anything bad happening (pealing, fire, smoke, etc)? And then I should clear coat it right?
Thanks for any suggestions
If you have any ideas as what you think would look cool on there, feel free to share! right now I think its going to be an offset and tilted silouette of brass knuckles and then an urban looking tag saying Scion, but not sure about colors or anything yet

I would not consider the plastic cover an area that needs "high temp" paint. The cover will not get hot enough (my opinion only) to cause fire or smoke, although it may produce a smell for a short bit until it cures. I have painted valve covers without using high temp paint and had no problems. If you clean the cover I would think you could use any quality spray paint on it without fear of peeling.
