I would definitely be interested in this if the price is right. When I ordered the options for my xA, they added labor for something that wasn't there and then they found out that the quickshifter was not available anymore for the xA, so I have a little extra cash to work with. I will make a drawing of what I would want it to look like if it were me designing it and send it to you.

Here's my Idea submission..
Forgive the fact that I am a poor artist.

Upper left is a cutaway of the hood at midway.
the vent is 1 inch high inside measurement. the lower area has a slight bend downward to assist in directing airflow. Hopefully we could install the winshield sprayers underneath the vent hood to hide them.

upper right is a top view. only thing i was trying to show here is that the vent is about 2 inches from the edge of the hood.

lower left is a rear view as the driver would see the intake. no sharp edges. it's all rounded in a Giger-esque kind of way.

lower right is a front (kinda) view. showing how the vent rises from the hood near the rear.

So what does everyone think? I know I am not a good artist but hopefully everyone can see the idea I have.

I would not mind seeing something like that one but have the hump end at the edge of the hood.

I think we are still waiting for some ppl to take a vote on 1 design, also he needs 10 deposits before anything starts.

i think i've kinda come to the conclusion that the scoop wouldn't look right because of the length and angle of our hood.....dunno though i could be wrong. i think it's gonna have to stick out to much.

since ive picked up a rs xa, i kinna like how this style looks and i know it will also be functional as an exit for hot air, and help in front end downforce....i might just have to reduce the scale ti fit an xa properly wih out lookin like its"too much or over done" let me know if you guys like this design so we can start our Group Buy Special Order...remember 10 pre orders are needed to start this project so lets get the ball rollling and start preordering NOW...thank you!

three qwick questions.
First like Chucksu said about moving the vent closer to the windheild. is that how you planned on doingit?

second, will it work using the OEM hardware including locking mechanism or will it need hood pins?

Lastly, How much?

i can definetly move it towards the windsheild, it will use all OEM hardware but as a manufacturer i would recomand the use of hoodpins, even tho i dont use any on any of my hoods, lastly as a group buy it looks like it will cost $350 UV coated and everything

I want a hood for my xA with a vent that is similar to the Amuse hood on my S2000:

The vent reduces the engine compartment temperature A LOT! The lip on the front of the vent adds a small amount of downforce to the front end.

I would like to draw up a proper design for the vented xA hood, if it's not too late. I'm getting crushed with work from anesthesia school, but I'd be willing to spend some time on the hood design, if there is a chance it will get into production.

-Pete

PS- I love CF!!

Yeah. Of course the vent would be wider on the xA, and wouldn't go so far back. The dimensions need to be appropriate for the xA hood.

The hood vent on the car in this pic is also similar to what I'm talking about. IMO it doesn't look very good on this car because of the front end design, but it will look GREAT on the xA (if done properly).

yeah, i like that one too, i just not sure we can pull it off on a xA, because of the length and angle of the hood.

I'll try to get it done, but I'm really limited on time.

It would be great if someone could post an outline of the xA hood. I'll download it and print it out, and use the blanks to sketch vent designs.

-Pete

PS- I fixed all of the pics on page 3.

I want a blacked-out grille on my xA, so I'm trying to figure out what that will look like.

Pete, your link is dead. You might want to upload it to photobucket.com or something.

I tried to hide the photoshop a little by bluring it:
