Rear-ended by a U-Haul truck
Was stopped at a light on the way home from work the other day when a U-Haul truck didn't stop. Hit me pretty hard,, but did surprisingly little damage. Will be taking the car this Sat. to the Toyota dealer for an estimate.. Only had it for about 3 weeks. Bummer.. But no one was hurt, and the car was "almost" undamaged!!!
wow. That story is just like mine except it was a chevy s10. got rear ended 4 days ago. got an estimate today for minor scrathes and a 2 small dimples and it came out to $465ish. :D yay...ther goes the value of my car. even lower. been in an accident. good to hear everyone was ok over there.
My estimates were as follows:
$305 to replace the bumper support - which was slightly bent.
$640 to do the same + repaint the bumper skin.
The mark on the skin is so small (would have to point it out to be seen) that I deceded not to do that. Just getting the bumper removed, replace the support and brackets and reinstall the skin.
Settled with the guy for $350. He was happy,, and it satisfies me. Though it would have been better - had the accident not happened..
