I have a Yakima base system with a Rockymounts Lariat S L (no space between S and L, for some reason SL gets filtered into ScionLife on here) bike tray.

Works like a charm, no extra pieces, and no fairing because it rests on the paint.

Here's another, more recent shot.

Old thread I know but you guys say there is a Thule kit for the XA? I was told Thule didn't make one for the xA and doesn't come up on the Thule site when you run the fitment page.

I would prefer a Thule because I have the Locks / Bike Trays / Loadbars and Fairing already from my previous Car and would think that the parts I could save would fit better on a Thule load bar vs the Yakima loadbar.

Default Yakima no longer supporting Q-towers

I know this is a super old thread, but I'm wondering if anyone can tell me which Q clips I would need to attach my Yakima Q towers to an '06 xA. Seems like Yakima has discontinued this product line, so their "configurator" won't tell me.

Default xA front end tie down location?

Yakima customer service has been great when I've called needing replacement parts that I can't find on their website. Might be worth it to see if they have enough spare parts in their warehouse to build new Q towers.

On a related note... does anyone know how/where to tie down a kayak to the front end of an xA? I have a 2004, hoping the other models will be similar!
I have Yakima bars*, pool noodles, and found locations under the rear bumper. Can't see a good spot under the front, though!

*I've been using the Q towers that were designed for the 2005 model on my 2004. Definitely not recommend by the manufacturer, but with a spacing adjustment they've worked fine (minus one incident) for going on 17 years.

I tie my Kayak to the tow hook in the front bumper. Pop the little cover off on the driver's side front bumper and you'll see female threads that accept a screw-in tow hook. I had one laying around but there may be one in your spare tire area or kit.
