so after reading a few posts about removing the wipers and installing a rear camera i decided to go on ebay and there's some very inexpensive cameras out there. 15-30 $$. but all the sizes are in millimeters. seeing as i'm about to remove my rear wiper today - what's the size of the hole in millimeters? or can anyone out there recommend an inexpensive camera. i already have a dvd player in the car so i don't need the 'rearview mirror/screen' thing.

one other thing: will the camera only work when the car is in reverse? can it be wired so if wanted it can be on? thanks for your help.

 

i would also like to know this. You had the same idea that popped into my head. I installed a screen right behind the front dome light and wanted to use it as a rearview camera. But i was thinking about putting the camera on the roof because of how low the hole for the wiper is. I was worried about not getting a good enough view.
