So, the dealer bent my door. . . What next?
Picked up my xA last week, Thursday night. Went and did a photoshoot with it Friday afternoon.
Then, on Tuesday, I took the xA in to have the rims, security system, and mud guards put on. When I picked it up Wednesday morning, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Then I went to give it it's first wash and put on some door-edge guards.
When I squatted down to press on the door-edge guards, I noticed the bottom corner of the front-driver door was bent. Like, a serious 45degrees fold about four inches up. The paint has cracked right along the bend too. I am crushed.
Now, I'm the only person off the lot who's opened that driver side door and I would know if this is something I did. There was one incident in a parking lot where the door got caught by the wind and blew open into an Explorer next to me. Of course, an explorer is MUCH higher than the bottom corner of the xA's door and I gave it a thorough inspection afterward No damage but a little paint transfer on the Explorer's door and that rubbed right off. Definitely NO bent door corner.
So, I drove past the dealer today and peeked in on my dealer. I was dropping off a copy of the newspaper article with the photos in it that were taken last week. Anyhow, I mentioned the door was dinged. She came out, looked at it and said she'll get it taken care of. The dealership has a bodyshop as part of their "strip".
My question is, what should I be concerned with as far as them "taking care of it"? What are they likely to do to fix it? Since the paint is cracked, should I insist they sand the factory paint off or what? My wife was rear-ended in her Saturn about two years ago, and she hit the car in front of her. The plastic bumper cover was cracked and we took it to their body shop. They ordered a new cover and painted it. Now that paint it all cracking and stuff. I want to make sure it's done right on my brand new xA.

Edit: Because it's late and I let some letters get away from me. Had to lassoo them and wrangle them back into place.
