u know what... i never thought of that
and the guy who installed teh switch DID take it out after we wired it up teh first time. I'm in no way blaming him either! it was kinda dark and its a simple mistake

im ripping them out today
there seems to be no solution to this problem, im getting fustrated, so they are coming out asap
Did you end up getting it to work?
Also, for electronic equipment, for power sources, there needs to be a ground. Period. There may be multiple point grounds to a single voltage source or a single ground for multiple sources (depends on the circuit, of course), but you need a ground.
If someone tells you you don't need to ground a simple light bulb, so it anyway. IF (if, if, if) the bulb lights up (though I doubt it would), its life would be dramatically decreased.
