My 12/04 bought xA has black door tag, personalized wake-up Radio message, but I think the thing is almost all Scions should be 05' models now -- they either sell out of xA's faster than the other models, or they have just enough made to meet demand and sell out right away. My xA was made 11/04, so that's about as fresh (ie. 05') as you can get!

Then again, to get a true '05 (ie made in year 2005), you'd have to wait until Feb 05 anyways for the Jan 05 built cars to sea ship and arrive in the States.

can I just go in the dearlership and say they gave me an 04 stereo and I have an 05 (they told me, and I have a passenger mirror) or would I have to have a problem w/ it? BTW, how DO you change they display, just in case I do have the right one and I just don't know how. And is there anything else that the 05 stereo can do that the 04 can't?

Default Check your Rear Headrests

I just got my '05 in December. The rear headrests are MUCH smaller than the '04s. That would be one of the changes, in addition to the visor mirror and radio changes mentioned above. (And, no, the mudguards are not standard, unless I paid for something I shouldn't have).

Changing the display was some crazy process of turning the car power off, pressing the button above the mute (A labeled was it?) button and holding it while turning the ignition to ACC, releasing the button, using the volume buttons to change the display, and hurry up because it'll time out and you'll have to do this a few times just to change your message. Don't know why they made it so tought....

My '05 has mudflaps on the front but not the rear and I didn't pay any extra but I don't remember if the other '05's had them on the lot or not.

yah, i didn't realize i could do that. i bet alot of people think there's a button that says "Change Personalization" at least i did...
1. you have to turn the car on (acc) while holding the, like "adorable" i forget what the button above mute is too.

2. but then, let go and hold mute while you turn the car off.

3.Then you can use the volume buttons and go up and down the letters.
4. Press the button above mute to go to the next space and hold the button above mute when you're done.

Dealer told me that the AC on the '05's was beefed up because of previous complaints. Have not had warm enough weather to try it yet but he said if I have any problems that they have an even beefier unit that can be installed to address this. Could this be another '05 difference?
