Default 2006 xA air conditioner blocked or clogged?

Over the last year, I've noticed the airflow slowly dwindling in my a/c. It's still cool, but weak. Today I got out the manual, found out about the air cabin filter, was surprised to see that there wasn't one installed. Read online that it's optional at the dealership.

I'm wondering if over time, the air flow has gotten blocked by dust and debris. (blower? What else is in there? Tubing?). I live on a long dirt road, the inside of the compartment was quite dusty. If that is a possibility, is there a way I can get in there and check/fix it myself?

Well, I guess that won't be happening any time soon. Anything else it could be? Or any other ways to blast the junk out of there? Leaf blower hooked up to the vents, perhaps?

take your glove box out and maybe blow it out via the where the cabin filter would be with compressed air

I had the same problem on my xA. Turns out some mice got in the car and made a nest out of the cabin filter. The pieces of cabin filter and dead mice were in the blower fan! After cleaning it out, ac works much better.

Default air cond

2 years ago my air wasn't working, and the local Toyota diagnosed that one of the lines, metal, was rusted out. Cost 400.00 to fix, has worked great ever since, and since I am a good customer, and the car was recently out of warranty by 6000 miles, Toyota split the cost with me.
