Default 4th time now.. Charcoal Canister Issue

Yay! So I got my car back today after the 4th time of the car being in the shop to replace the fuel canister. This is becoming a very frustrating item to keep dealing with. They suggested that I start hand washing my car since it seems to be a issue with pressure washing or at least they say. They first said I ran it too low on gas and moisture got into the canisfer, then it changed to washing the car by hand and some how some way got into the canister.

So what are your thoughts in regards to this and has anybody had to replace the canister more than once?

I've done bucket hand washing, pressure washing via car wash, etc. I've only washed in the engine bay once and that was by hand as well...

Gah.. anywho.. the Yaris Hatch is looking good again.

Make it "Family Time," Sakko. The two of you go out and wash your cars at the same time... Togetherness. :D

Damn, Brian, didn't anyone tell you xAs aren't dishwasher safe???

I can't imagine how you are getting enough water into the air intake of the cannister (I think it vents near the fuel filler) without aiming a pressure washer directly at the vent, and holding it there.

Best bet would be to have the dealership guys show you exactly where the water is getting in (since they think they know) and for you to cover that (duct tape?) when you wash your car. Either that or quit rinsing it in the swimming pool... :D
