Default Aftermarket Auto Shifter (Searched, I swear!)

Hey, Noob here.

I'm about to buy the xA, and the only thing driving me nuts is the ugly auto shifter. Whose idea was it to put a giant pole in the middle of the car? :huckles:: Is there an aftermarket replacement I can get? I read about the O/D button, anyone had any luck with getting an aftermarket that it works with?

Thanks!

...he says to the girl with no clue. Unfortunately, coordination and I don't mix. I'd love to learn, but i'd end up breaking my poor scion.

EDIT: The link doesn't work.

I'm in the same case as you are, but unforntunately, most of the autos shifter I find are really hideous....

Plus we got the O/D button and I don't know how I'm gonna move that button out of the way.

Thanks!

I've been waiting for someone to post a DIY for the automatic shifter. One guy moved his O/D button, but nobody knew how he did it. I'm waiting to see how to do this since I'm not very technical with cars.

the guy quickly explains how he did it and requieres some intutive knowledge.
I'll finish the rest of the pics tonight and post up a step by step diy soon afterwards

the od is just two dumb wires. and goes through the center pole for the auto shifter.
dumb wires meaning there is no polarity for positive or negative. (at least for the 06 xA anyway)
