Air Flow Selector Knob Won't Turn to Defrost Settings?
I'm having an odd problem with my 1-week old 2006 Scion xA. The air flow selector **** refuses to turn to the right farther than the "floor-only" setting. I can't make it go to the defroster settings at all. This happens whether or not the A/C is on, and whether or not I have the air recirculating or coming in fresh.
I'm not finding anything in the manual on this. Am I missing something, or do I need to take the car back in to the dealer to fix this?

There's no such thing. Whatever issue you are having with your HVAC controls have nothing to do with your intake.
have any of you installed new radio's? i had that same problem, i ran my power wire for my sub behind the a/c **** thing and that whole center console area, and noticed the same thing. it took me like a week but i noticed it was after i put in my first system, and i moved the power wire, everything was as good as new.
