Air Intake question
Just purchased a used 06 XA with only 8k miles and I am loving it! The previous owner added a BUNCH of extras but I had a question about the (TRD) cold-air intake that was added. Does the air filter need to be cleaned regularly? If it does, how do you get to the filter? It does not look easy to get to.
Thanks. I am sure this will be the first of many questions and thanks for your patiance.

If the air filter is also TRD then I think yes, although I have no idea what the cleaning intervals are. If you need the cleaning kit you can get it here -> http://www.trdsparks.com/displaypart...2&parts_id=561
And if you need instructions, there is a guide for that here(It's for K&N brand but its basically the same for TRD) -> https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=30892
Also, you might try posting this in the "Drivetrain and Power" section. I think the people who hang out there know more about this kind of thing.

You could probably get away with cleaning your filter once a month, depending on the conditions you live in.
The way I got to my K&N was to jack up the car and take off the bottom plastic splash guard then remove the filter. A bit difficult at first, but once you've done it a few times it's no problemo.
And if you want my opinion, I'd get an AEM filter. I love K&N to death, but I've found AEM to be a lot better. Oil or not, I find it to be easier to clean and just better to deal with.
