Well, I spoke a little to soon. On my way to work my guage cluster lit up like a Christmas Tree. My check engine light came on, my Traction Control light came on and my Vehicle stability control light came on, pretty much all at once. It's scheduled to be taken in on the Friday, so I'll see what they say about it then.

The vent visors do the trick for the wind noise - I love those things. Got the in-channel ones - you can hardly tell they're there. Other than that, had a buzzing from the door speaker at loud volume, but it went away before I could get it in to the dealer for a look.

As far as general funkiness - the rear seat headrest obscure about half of the view. For extra fun, try taking them out without folding down the seat!

I found that the rattle in my ashtry seems to go away after I take the penies, quarters, nickels, dimes out...

Seriously though;

The wind reverb is real... Especially if yu fully open the sunroof. What I mean is, press the open button after it stops in the automatic open position. So I don't recommend that... (I guess this only matters if you were to get an RS1)
The clutch issues seem to be hit or miss... In the thread I started some have seen less than 5000 miles, others have seen 30000+. I drive it like the race car that it is not and I have just noticed the issue at 15000. If you are getting an atuo this shouldn't affect you at all.

Just my $0.02

There is one.
Watch your window levels while driving. You can have audio reverb in the cabin where the waves try to scramble your brain and it's really really loud.

no kidding.
Haha, yeah that sound is crazy. Sometimes it will catch me off guard, and i feel like my ears are going to bleed. I actually make everyone that gets in my car experience it. Initiation
Interesting wind noise coincidence - I had someone in my xA yesterday asking how I liked the car...when I mentioned the wind noise issue she asked me if it felt like my eardrums were being sucked out of my head....turns out she has the exact same issue with her Toyota Highlander!! I think Toyota needs to lower the windows in all their windtunnel testing.

Is anyone in here still running 87 from the pump or has most pretty much went to 89 octane?
a little off topic, but while we were discussing problems...

yeah I'm going to look into those vent visors/ birthday's coming up.

I have always run 87... Besides the obvious reasons, is there any particular reason that many would be switching to 89...? Any TSB's or other reasons etc...?

There were alot of people on Edmunds forums that had switched and I decided to try it. It seems like it react sa little faster, and then now I'm afraid to switch it back that I might ended up disappointed or something.

I've done it through roughly a half dozen tanks now.

I always use 87, but thanks to yall, I have to gas up on the way home and I think I'll try the 89 just to see what happens...
Will I be able to smoke the tires now?

::note, I should read before replying::
I'm still running 87, my wife hates the fact I run 91 in my truck, but I don't really have a choice. I might try some 89 but she's in it more for the milage than the pappyness

The shift to 2nd is horrible, but a short shift kit fixed it. I do hate the stock tires, they have no traction while turning hard. As for the gas mileage.... I was geting 25-30 but i blew a tire and was forced to use the spare and stay at or under 60mph, needless to say my MPG jumped to mid to high 30's like Scion claimed. What i did like was once my little engine had a few mods ( IHE ) it went from horrible hill climber to nice and speedy.

I just did a test drive today! I drove a manual transmission and thought it was great! It was only a 6mile drive though. I'm just wondering though, aside from the rattling and the air noise, have you found this to be a good car? Would you change your purchase if you had the chance to go back?
