Default Automatic to Manual swap?

Is it possible to put a manual transmission in place of the auto in a 06 xA?

Sure, I know anything is possible but can I just get a manual and the corresponding shifter linkage from a junker and bolt it in? Or is the ECU and such specific as well?

Very strait forward but u have to know what you're doing.
My question is y? The manual transmission has the same setbacks the auto has. The revs on the final gear is a killer at anything above 65. I was talking to my wife about possibly swapping in a camry motor or 2zz from a celica. More power and better mpg. Easily made street legal too.

I'd be interested in a celica or camry swap... the legalities of that? And I'm in California...

Ill b looking into that myself once the time comes but a really good friend of mine dropped in an LS2 in his FC RX7 and got it legal. Turns out the LS had better emissions than his rotary. Just make sure u get the legal ball rolling before u do the swap. They'll let u know what u need
Btw im also a californian

Overall its probably easier to just sell the auto car and buy a manual. I know thats probably not what you want to hear, but ive been down this road many times.

Always dooable, but not always the best route.
