Belt Squeling problem
I have an 05 xa and i have recently changed the belts about two weeks ago and now i have a horibly loud squel when i turn on the ac but it only squels for about a minute or to any time i turn it on but if i turn it right off and turn it right back on the squel doesnt do it again.. Does anybody know what the problem might be does anybody think i might have the belts to loose of something any help would be great.

so many squeaky belt threads! the search bar is very useful.
heres the link i found a while back that did the job
http://tijil.org/Scion_TSBs/eg03107.pdf
basically just have to tighten the belt, if that doesnt do the trick check to see if all your pulleys are aligned and the belt is rested in properly.
my friends car does this too with the a/c, sometimes(especially in the mornings) she would turn on her car with the a/c left on from the day before and would make the same squeak/squeal, it turned out the rubber contracting during the cold of the night put too much tension on the belt for the a/c clutch to engage, thus making the noise, the solution: dont use a/c the first 5min ur car is turned on,let it warm up, thats it.
to add to this if this doesnt just occur when the car is first started maybe the belts are just to tight. get your belts to the tension in the link above and see how it goes.hope your problem is fixed soon.
