Default EZ Bake Oven Bulb Type?

Hey guys, been searching for hours for this.
I think the oven box is a 194 type.
autolumination comes highly recommended for other bulbs. What type would I get from them to change my oven box light? There are several 194 types on there? Anybody do this yet?

Thanks.

Well, the problem with a direct LED replacement on that one is the orientation... it uses that white panel as a diffuser and needs omnidirectional light to fill the box. As big a fan of LEDs as I am, it hurts to say that your best bet is the color-matched incandescent bulbs... that or the flat panel, but 36 LEDs is an awful lot for that little box.

Did you change yours out yet?
I want blue instead of that goofy amber colour.
So where should I get those bulbs? From autoillumination?

FYI, I orderd the blue incandesent bulb(194) from them and it wasn't really the color I wanted. Its more of a turquoise color (greenish blue). If you look at the pics in my signature you can get an idea of what it looks like. I also made a short light bulb review here... https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...893&highlight=

As for LEDs, I had one in there before and they seem like they put out less light then they really do because of the reason Bear454 gave you. So you will have to decide between color or brightness. hope this helps some.

Cool. I will read through your posts now. That pesky amber glow is really getting to me....
Thanks for all the info, I will write back if I have any questions.

SanchezHacker -
I totally agree with you with the colour of the box. Very Turquoise. Not what I'm going for. I would actually just prefer a bright white. So which ones do I get? Regular bulb is cool by me if its bright enough. I'm a little confused on the LED thing bear454 was saying. autoillumination has so many types of 194, I dont know which one to order.
Sorry I'm so new to all of this.

Once you take everything apart you'll see what we mean. the oven is composed of 2 boxes, one big box that you can keep your sunglass in and CD's or other stuff. The other box is realy small and is not accessible without taking apart the dash, it is ment only for the light. The thing about the small box area is that it posistions the light bulb pointing tward a plastic pice that doesnt transmit light. this is ok for incandecent bulbs becuase they put out light 360 degrees which sends light into the main box. But LEDs are kinda like spot lights, they focus the light in one direction. In this case and LED would focus all its light on the plastic piece instead of going into the main box, This is kinda ok because some of the light reflects off of the plastic and goes into main box, just not as much as an incandecent bulb would.

That being said, I just remembered that I have a video of the whole process being done(oven light replacemnt) that I got off of a different site. If you want, PM me with your email and ill send it to you, it helped me a lot my first time. If your looking for a bright white color then you'll definity want and LED, incandecents are incapable of giving a pure white color.
