VERY nice work there guys. I'm working on something similiar for my xB once I get it. I tore apart the one in the showroom at the dealer and it looks like pulling out the foam compartments in the back should yield enough space for a woofer. Now I just have to dust off my box building skills from several years ago and get to work.

 

i'm in San Diego and not too far away... if you wanna put one in mine, feel free to do so. i'd def be up for a road trip, and i would happily bring up my check book. if u can put something like that in there and save the LITTLE trunk space i do have, i'd be up for the drive... TLspatt, I'm going to be in Gordons Well Prez day weekend (Sand Dunes over east of El Centro) We might be able to work a deal out on one of these. Though the specific woofer, depth and volume required can play a big factor in sound. I've got a P2 10 in my truck in about .65 cu foot of space and it pounds. I'm considering replacing her p1 12 with a P2 10 (same air space better sound more power too) due to the surround on the 12 seperating twice now. The first time I think was a manufacturing defect this time I think it was over driving the woofer. I abuse the crap out of my systems. According to my wife she never turns it up as loud as me, but for some reason I've replaced 4 woofers for her in 4 years.

That box is the first thing I thought of when i first saw the spare, but you made it happen! I have no 'glass skills (yet), even though I'm a pretty good carpenter. Maybe I can make it happen with a lot of accurate angle cuts and trig. Prolly lose some air space, but I'm going for an 8" or 10" anyway (wife's car)!
