I just bought an 06 xA with 71K miles for $5K..was a repo, but in good shape and will make a good 1st car for my daughter. I've learned a lot on this site already, which is good because I'm a classic Ford guy...currently building a 73 Bronco, but haven't found any info on the license plate frame that comes with the car.

Anyway, anybody install this? I saw the dimples that need to be drilled, but don't know what's behind it. Anybody?

 

There's nothing behind it. I just screwed two screws in there and attached the plate directly onto the bumper without a frame.

 

Behind the bumper cover is a styrofoam-looking piece and behind the dimples for front license plate screws are two holes in the styrofoam piece to accomodate the screws without ruining the styrofoam.
