I need help with my Aux jack.
Ok so i bought my 06' xA like a year ago and the dealer told me that this aux jack would work and blah blah blah. I never tested it cause I didnt have a Ipod or mp3 player at the time. Now I just bought me an Ipod and expected to be listening to my favorite tunes. Thing is it is unresponsive I plug it in push play on the ipod and i push the aux button on my radio and nothing it just keeps playing the radio.
The aux jack is under the handbrake and it looks Factory Installed. I still have the OEM Headunit with the 4 buttons around the volume **** and the tune buttons on the driver side and what not.
Im hopeing i just have to plug somethhing in and that the dealer didnt burn me.
Thanks for the help.
p.s. Is the Headunit a double din? my friend said it looked a little smaller than a double din HU I think its a double din but idk.

Your sequence is correct. With the iPod plugged into Aux, and the Aux button pressed on the head unit should give you music from the iPod. I don't know if that's the Aux jack or a problem with the head unit.
If you are pushing the Aux button on the head unit and the radio continues to play, that sounds more like a head unit issue. Under normal circumstances, pressing the Aux button should give you silence, and then music once you press play on your device. Again, sounds more like the head unit. Maybe even dust or debris in the button itself? A shot of electronic contact cleaner may be in order.
Hope you can get it resolved.

Thank you for your input.
That wasnt the case though after getting angry I pulled the HU. Simplest HU I have ever pulled btw lol cept for those plastic tabs. Anyway there wasnt any connections loose I did notice an extra set of connectors (any idea what those are for?). So I was about to give up but then I remembered to check the port itself and low and behold the clip was disconnected solved my problem and kept me from spending 50 bucks on a AM transmitter.
I hope this helps someone in the future.
