Default I'm new to this.

hello, i live way up north in california, and last week i bought a silver 06 xa. no options, i couldnt really afford them. can you guys share some inexpensive mods/customizations that i can do?

also, can someone tell me what is wront with this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Scion...spagenameZWDVW

its seemingly too cheap...

also, do all the 06 scions use the same plastic textured stuff for the whole dash are? its also on the doors and stuff, and ive found that its extremely cheap, and its already been scratched and marred in 2 places. anyone know of any sort of protective treatment or coating or alternative dash areas that are available?

thanks for the help, i dont know anyone else with a scion, and there is no club or community up here.

I'm new, too, so I'm not the best one to tell you anything...BUT.

Looks like that supercharger is plastic or something...I do know that turbos and superchargers take a hellish amount of heat, so I wonder if this will hold up. It would suck for it to fail while in your car!

ok, this is just what i know, the "supercharger" and "chip" on ebay, yea, not good investments, they suck. the supercharger thing is just a fan for your intake, dosnt do a damn thing, the chip, just dosnt work, and if it did the comp on our cars are pretty smart and would recognize it and do away wit it on its own

the texture is kinda a pain, asaide from interior portectant stuff from the store, no nothing,

cheap mods, well it depends, the intake on ebay is good for the money, i bought it and it does fine, asaide from that you could put LED's just about anywere u want, but thatz up to you, maybe if you asked what you would like specifically, like for "show" or "go" or both, and search, lots of usful info from the search button and just the different boards on here

also, are strut bars worth it, and are they easily installed?
and should i use some sort of performance air filter?

personally... stay away from Ebay... since you have an xA.. i would say go visit xAtuner.com for some good in-depth information.

The best thing I would do is save your money. Quality parts come at a cost but you will be much happier in the long run for performance.

Parts for these cars ARE cheap.. not cheap in the way you are hoping for, but a rear sway bar will run you around $110-180, front strut bar will be about the same, SRI or CAI will run you about 130 to 230 depending. Trust me, this is the smart and wise way to do it and you will ultimately enjoy your car longer.

^^^ Good info, except for staying away from Ebay~ As long as you know what you're buying, it's a good place to get parts at a good price. Sadly, many newbies to Ebay get sucked into the low prices before reading the fine print and end up with something they can't even use~

lowering springs are a good mod that don't cost too much and aren't too hard to install yourself with a little help. Tein stechs on ebay are a good price, or try jsc speed, they are sponsors of this site and gave me a great deal on mine, good luck with your egg.
