that sucks! good luck w/ the jetta - a few of my friends have had them and they seem to have caused them nothing but trouble in terms of repairing, etc.

sorry to see you leave! have fun w/ your new car though - it sounds like it'll be fun!

Sorry, I forgot to ask in my other post - what made you decide to sell? Just curious.

i wanted a real car. i think it was too simple and a little smaller than I wanted. got tired of how easy the interior could scratch and how hard the engine takes to move with more passengers.

I finally told myself I'd pay more for fuel to have more piece of mind in performance.

I had an accident in 2002 that keeps messing with me and I've been trying to find out what works for me.

Last night I tested the jetta with four other men in the car. It was pretty cool. I think it utilized the RPM's more efficiently and shifted smooth for an auto.

We had to finance on it but my S/O was happy to do so with me because he loves it.

Not to but in or anything, but the '02 Jetta is a beast if your in an acident.. My girlfriend has one, and we got into an acident about a year ago, after flying off the road about 10 yards and 11K worth of damage we walked away.. To be honest, I didn't even feel the impact..

Congrats on a great car. They're truly fun to drive.

The quality of Volkswagen has gone down greatly over the last 12 years. I donated my 95 Passat VR6 5 speed to charity last year as there were just so many things wrong with it. All of them expensive as hell. I have owned VWs since 1981 and loved them.

If my Xa is too slow. I will add a header to it. Maybe a TRD exhaust. I will still get 40mpg and have the reliability of the Toyota name.

I am not writing to the original poster of this forum. I guess I am airing my thoughts and wondering what others think.

I wish the poster luck.

lol that wasn't my main point, but I don't get it myself - it seems high. I've checked twice. The usual on the highway is 36-38 and I drive fast. I have 20k on it now so I'll check on it again to make sure I am not boasting falsely

Will you still feel the same way when we have a nuclear showdown with Iran and gas prices soar to over 5.00 per gal

By then hopefully I will be walking to work

We find out very soon if we can relocate from here to somewhere else with much nicer communities.

You mean Anaheim is not the pinnacle of So. Cal. community living? Damn, and I was dreaming of living next to Mickey Mouse.

It's not just Anaheim. The whole southwest coastline irks me like mad, though San Diego is much more quiet. I'm hoping to make it to Phoenix for a while and give that a whirl.
Iowa, Texas, Northern VA, SoCal... keep on keeping on.
