ipod connection
ok, just got my first scion and am totally in the dark.....i have a very basic stock stereo and am wondering the easiest and least expensive way to connect my ipod.
what connections are hiding on the back of my stock stereo? and if i'm not going to use my satalite stereo....are there connections for it that i might use???

You should see the connectors by the parking brake. At the least a hole where you would plug in a head phone jack or a male to male stereo plug from your ipod to the scion radio. If it has the ipod connector you would plug your usb cord from the ipod into that. The back of the head unit has nothing special, no usb plugs, no memory card reader, just a punch of plugs.
Correct; on the 2004 xA, they did not include the auxiliary part.
I can't remember where the posts are, but there are a few posts on DIY projects to hook up your iPod.
It requires a few harnesses that you'll have to buy, but it's a relatively easy mod to do.
If you can't find anything in the ICE & Interior section, a search should get you to where you need to look.

I have an adapter that I used in my car before I upgraded. It allows you to play your iPod through your stock radio, it works through the CD Changer plug. If your interested, I can send you some more details. Just let me know.
