Default Just bought an Xa

Hi, I just bought an Xa today. I did a ton of research, and it's exactly the kind of car I want.

However, on my way home today, I was exiting 78 in NJ, and I felt something on my left foot, by the clutch. I checked it out when I got home, and it was a small mirror, looks like a side-view mirror, or something along those lines.

It's late (and dark), so I couldn't see to well where it came from, but I will surely ask my dealer about it. Is there supposed to be a mirror by the clutch? I had service done on it before I left, installing the alarm, fog lights, and I'm going back in a week for the sunroof.

I'm also having a problem with the driver side front speaker rattling, but have seen that people have gotten their dealer to take care of this for them, so I will be sure to bark up that tree.

That's about it. I fell in love with this car after reading reviews, and called 14 dealers in NJ before finding one that stocked a manual transmission.

Any other suggestions for a new Xa owner? And, wtf is up with that mirror?

hey congrats!
Mine will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. :D

I have no clue where that mirror came from. Very odd...

I wish mine was getting a sunroof!

Congratulations on your purchase. When you get your sunroof, take pics of the car! Interior and Exterior!

That mirror was probably left behind by the alarm installer by mistake. It's probably to help the installer look for the wiring for the alarm...

You know, that makes perfect sense. The fog lights and the alarm controls are in the same area. Oh, well. I sent the dealer an email about it, anyhow.

The sunroof was an option with this dealer, ran me just over a grand, but I love having natural light in the car.

Also, what RPM does your Xa run at when in 5th gear? I've noticed that I run at 3500 when going 70 MPH. Does that seem a bit hight? I'm sure it's ok (yes, I'm a bit trusting and all). Then again, I'm coming off a V6, so....

(Love the car so far...)

Yup, that's normal I drive about 80mph on the highway (in a 70mph zone)...it's at 4000rpm. In 5th gear, just calculate rpm*.02 and you'll get your mph. When I take my trip back to college, I'll try to drive no higher than 60mph (*gasp!*). I want to see the difference in mileage...

CONGRATS!

I got my xA on Thursday night and I love it also! I have a rattle in my driver side door somewhere and the dealer is fixing it tomorrow. Depending on the dealer they are super nice about fixing these things so definitely bring it up to them.

Post some pix of your new xA!

EDIT: oh yeah.. those RPMs are normal. It is just the way these little engines are geared.
