maint. required blinking
Hello,
in the past few days i noticed that maint. required lamp is blinking for about 5 seconds after i start the car. What that could be for?
I noticed that sometimes engine sound becomes more dull. Also, when the shift is in P or N position engine sounds very quiet, but once i change to D it gets louder and feels like smth is trembling.
Third thing i noticed recently is strange smell once i start a car, i cant really describe it, its like smth burnt but not exactly... I changed recently cabin filter, but i think it happened before that also.
So, could all these be symptoms of one problem???
Thanks!

When you take it in for the oil change, they can do a multiple point inspection (free if you have the toyota services contract (not extended warranty)).

2 draxcaliber:
first thing, i just dont have it!
secondly, if it is "freaking" why do i have to read it?

actually that sound appeared earlier, for maybe 2 weeks, then i git that lamp blinking and i thought smth could be wrong with engine...

because everybody should always read the owner's manual to the cars they own, or lease. it is just good sense, and helps you learn so you don't ask dumb questions.
if you don't have an owner's manual, you can buy one from any toyota/scion dealership.

Not sure there is a thread about the blinking vs how to turn off the maint req light as to why one may not be available to search for. I use the search feature and have used the net since the late 90s, but these forum search engines just do not horne in like a web search engine will and in many cases a funny sound, smell or new idiot light is something that an immediate answer is needed. Its not like much is being added to the a forum and that car has been discontinued for a few years now.
Anyhoo, I searched and added twiec to 2 different thredas in the xb g2 forums about the super charger. You guessed it, no response, the new thread about it had a user post a link to the older thread I posted a q in and went unanswered.
Boy, good thing I used the search feature.
