My new 06 Xa, and stuff that changed from 05
Hi all
i've had my Xa for a couple weeks now, and thought I'd join the forum where i'd gotten some good info.
for the record, my mods are just K&N CAI and strup headers.
stock muffler to keep it quiet.
think i'll keep the 15" steelies and the tall springs cuz the streets here SUCK. I mean really bad! Maybe i'll get some nicer looking wheels someday, but i'm keeping the tall sidewalls.
notes:
strup headers bolt right on, but buy some heatshield material. the shift cables need to be pulled a little bit to the side, and wrapped. i also wrapped a little black hose that was there(didn't bother figuring out what it was), and shielded the powersteering resevoir (figured it couldn't hurt, and that pipe is really close)
the little valve that attaches to the side of the airbox now screws on from the bottom, instead of clipping on from the side. no big deal, but when i had to move it for the CAI, the new bracket didn't fit, and i had to make something. Also, the wiring harness wouldn't reach the new location of the MAS, but it's easy to cut back the wireguide and retape it all.
the 05 scion alarm DOESN'T FIT in the 06. different harness.
Yeah, i figured it out the hard way, but ken at trdsparks is on top of it, and sending me an advance replacement for the wrong one.
THat's all for now
