Hello, new to the boards. Whelp ordered my Scion xA 2 days ago, and was told that it would take atleast 2 weeks to find and ship one, I wanted White and AT. So I get a call today saying they have it in and are ready for payment. This made me a sad panda because I am waiting for my dad to cosign a loan for the car(putting 7 grand down and need a 7565 loan for the rest) and he is in Alaska till the 8th. So my baby is sitting collecting dust while I play the waiting game.

Anyways on to pressing matters, my first order of buisness when I aquire the car is to build a grounding kit that I read about on this site. I also would like to purchase a Cold Air Intake, I've read good things about the K&N Typhoon Short Ram. I also read a disturbing post about anything other than the AEM CAI is not meant for long term use and can damage my engine. Is this in anyway true? If so I guess I will go with the AEM CAI but it is $100.00 more than the K&N. If you have any suggestions they are appreciated. I am not really looking for more power, but I dont want a fart maker on my car but I want the engine to sound mean and I've read a good CAI does just that.

'05 or 06? Interested if you were able to get an '06 xA delivered so quickly. I ordered a polar white '06 xA (5-spd) at the end of June, but have yet to hear any expected arrival date from my dealer here in VA.

 

Like stevejo I have yet to hear when my xA will arrive. I just talked to the dealer today, but they don't have any word about when they will be seeing them. Any information would be helpful.

 

Sorry I don't have any suggestions on the mods in the original post, but to follow-up with brianfay, I did hear from my dealer here today in Virginia. He said my '06 xA (polar white, manual, side air bags.....) had been allocated and would be arriving in New York late August, and to expect an early September delivery. Was hoping it would be sooner, but still anxiously awaiting my xA!

 

Yeah, I was afraid of that. I want it before September, but I'm concerned that I'm just not going to get it. As the philosopher's (or Tom Petty at least) say: the waiting is the hardest part.

I'm getting mine from smart motors. I went the other day and just drove it for like 30 mins I think they got worried but meh it shall be mine soon enough. Well hopefully they took the little HOLD sign off the windsheild when I went to drive it so hopefully they don't sell it to someone else cause that ____ me off . And someone would be getting shot! . ANYWAYS, this is the slowest weekend I have ever lived, since I don't have a job per say at the momment because the only reason im getting a new car is a diabetic old man rented a car and had a blackout and deystroyed my 1991 Ford Taurus while it was parked ( my job is a deliever driver, only while I go to school of course ). Only got 1300 bucks for my car cause fords suck it only had 70k miles on it too and no rust. So I really haven't been able to go anywhere for about 2 weeks I am so ready to start driving again!

 

Just curious, what type of radio head unit did you get installed? Single or 6 disc?

 

Just the single, I didn't get any add ons with mine I was thinking the security system with keyless entry but 500 bucks is alot for one of those sure I coulda put it in my loan but I would much rather get one for like 200 bucks and have it installed. The sound system in the car is really nice I don't plan on doing anything aftermarket to it except maybe amping the speakers i have a 500 watt 2 channel amp from my subs in my taurus that I was thinking of throwing in the car to power up the speakers a bit get some more sound out of em, we will see once I get it.

 

Your a lucky one i ordered my scion and they told me it would arrive within 10 - 14 days at max. we had put a 3500 down payment so i figured hell they should get it here in time it took them a month and a half to finally get it here, i've had my car now for like 2 weeks and i love it... it's a great car to do stuff too but so far its not very fast... i just put a system in it just 1 12 but in a custom box... but best of luck to you and your new scion!

 

Wow, I went to the Scion dealer and picked up an xA. Drove it home the same night. Band new Black Sand Pearl 06.

.....They only had one, but it happend to be exactly what I was looking for.

Must really suck bad......ordering one and not getting it sooner.
