Default New IIP xA is here. Pics before and after mods

Well it took just under 6 weeks but the xA is finally here. This car was a surprise gift for my girlfriend for whom the xA is her very first car. I surprised her with it and of course she loved it. Not only that, there are next to no (I have never seen one) xA's in Toronto Canada where I live which makes this a pretty unique ride. Here are the specs:

2006 Scion xA
Indigo ink pearl
5 spd

Mods / Options

- iPod ready stereo
- Scion security with RKE
- Auto dimming mirror with mood lights and Home Link
- Factory floor and trunk mats
- OBX pedals
- Fog lights
- Factory arm rest
- Carbon fiber licence plate frame
- Tien H springs
- Sport edition 16" wheels in bright silver

Hope you guys like the pics:

Thanks for the compliments guys. To answer the questions:

1. The fog lights are the OEM ones for the 06. To make them yellow I put Lamin-X filem on them. www.Lamin-x.com . It is an awesome product.

2. The rims are Sport Editions from Tire rack. At $71/rim you just can't go wrong

Are those rims 15"? I'm usually not a fan of 5-spoke rims but those look very clean.

Next step, you might want to tint those windows....the ac does the best it can, but some days it needs a little help.....

Thank you for posting the picture of the security system. Never knew it was installed in dash like that. Good to know. If you wouldn't mind, could you maybe go over some of the functions that the security system has? Anything cool/remarkable that it has for "frills" would be interesting to know. I have this coming on my new ride too, but don't know much about its workings. Thanks.

Gosh, I wish my boyfriend bought MY new xA! Lucky girl. LOL I really like it the upgrade it had done to it. Good job. I response to PhatPauly's post above, the security system isn't really anything of a spectacle ... if someone breaks the window, the starter disengages and the alarm goes off -- you can start the car once you use the remote to turn the alarm off. There is a panic button on the remote that turns the alarm on and the lights flash and is really freakin' loud. Its not anything different than any other alarm system you seen before. :o)

The Echo is complete weaksauce. xA > Echo.

You're right about the Echo we have in the states. But the Canadian Echo is totally different and very cool.

Check it out ---> http://www.canadiandriver.com/roadtest/04echo_hb.htm

That Echo does look nicer than the US version, but I'd still take the xA over that Canadian Echo.

Nuvolari,

The car looks really nice. Your girlfriend is cute too.

My decision to go with the xA over the Echo hatchback is two fold:

1. Economics:

In Canada a used Echo hatchback with anywhere near the stuff this car has on it is about $18K CDN plus taxes. This is for a car with 40K on the clock.

The Scion brand new with all the stuff I put on it landed in Toronto with a full tank of gas and all taxes paid was about $17K. A no brainer.

2. The cool factor:

We all like to be different and in the little I've played around with the xA, I get more looks, questions and points than I do driving my red Ferrari. The xA is a way cool car.

As for more pics of the girlfriend, somehow I don't think that she would appreciate me showing her off like that and I'll have to be decent and decline the request. If your in Toronto though, look for her in the blue xA.
