Default Pedals

Hello,

I'm looking to buy some good looking/functional aluminum pedals for my xA. The main thing I'm looking for is a wider throttle pedal in order to make heel/toe maneuvers easier. I'm looking for something relatively inexpensive ($40 with shipping is my limit) and I really don't want to buy something a POS.
I saw the IS300 pedal mod o the forums, but that's too expensive for me (the only is300 pedals I've found were $60 for just the throttle pedal...). Also, the obx pedals that came as an option for the xAdon't look wide enough for me, but if anyone has any experience with them, please let me know because I'm strongly considering buying them. I've also been checking out some generic universal pedals available on eBay, but I would really like to hear from you guys before I make my decision.

Thanks for reading!

unfortunately to get something that is worth your time you'll spend some money to do it right. from what i've seen the obx are still just tiny pedals so don't waste your time or money with those.

I liked the obxs I had. Nice having the extra grip on the petals.

The real trick is to use your left foot for clutch only, then twist your right sideways to put your toes on the brakes and ball of your foot on the gas. Great for launching off inclines without wussing out to using the e-brake.

Comparing left foot braking and heel-toe is like comparing apples and oranges. I'm talking about downshifting before a turn. I do use left foot braking, but only to correct understeer in the turn. I use heel-toe before the turn in order to slow the car down and rev-match for the lower gear. I don't see how left foot braking is superior to heel-toe; they don't have the same purpose so they're incomparable.

^^^Scooter, as I noted in my first post I'm familiar with that mod. It's just too expensive and I can't afford it. That's why I'm looking for a less expensive set of pedals.

UPDATE:

I bought some MK1 pedals (knock off celica/is300 pedals) off eBay and they're actually pretty nice. They fit just like OEM pedals, which I found very surprising. I also did not need to cut/modify them in any way to make them fit. They even come with their own replacement pin for the throttle pedal. I followed Mikochu's installation guide to put them on. The pin on my oem throttle pedal was a _____ to get off, but other than that, everything went pretty smoothly. I'll post pics in a few days and update as to how the pedals are doing. But I would say that it's definitely a nice mod, for $25 shipped for all three pedals, I'm pretty happy.

Here's a link to the pedals if anyone is interested http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MK1-U...ehicleQ5fParts
