Default problem w/ CD player...

the past 3 days i've gotten in my car at work to go home. i usually use my iPod but i took it out to load new songs on it and just keep forgetting to take it back. but i had a CD in the unit.

the first day i got probably half way home and just randomly in the middle of the song, the unit turned off and spit the CD out. there was no text or anything on the display and then the radio turned on - then text showed up.

the second day i was a bit closer to work...not too much (maybe a 1/4 mile from where it happened the day before). it did the same thing. powered off, spit the CD out, then the radio came on before the display came on.

today, it did this before i even got on the highway...about a 1/4 from work (the other times were around 5 miles from work).

i've had a CD playing for the last week and a half...and it's just started doing it this past 3 days. any clue what's going on?

(and it rattles sometimes when i'm driving down the highway, but when i put my hand on it, it stops)

(i've got the upgraded iPod stereo)

First question would be, is it the same cd or different cd's? If it's the same, then try it with a couple different ones and see if they do it also.

If they do, then that sounds like a dealer trip to me.

Your CD unit is clearly defective. Demand a new one. I've no complaint about mine, other than the sound quality sucks for my type of music (too much bass, treble is too tinny, no amount of tweaking makes it better).

it's done it so far with 2 different CDs. twice with one.

i had one CD (Judd & Maggie) in for a good week with no problems. then i put a different CD (Warren Barfield) and the first 2 days were fine then the 3rd it spit it out. then i switched to Casting Crowns and it has spit that one out both days i've had it on.

i just switched to using my iPod this morning cause i remembered to bring it out to the car with me. i guess i'll call the dealer and explain the problem to them and see what i can do about it.

thanks!
