I purchased a usd 2005 XA Scion with installed Toyota Security System, but I did not get a remote with the car. I have purchased and programmed a remote but can not get it to work. I don't think it was the correct one. Is there a special remote that comes with the security system and where can I find it? I have called Toyota dealers and and they can't provide me with this item and they tell me the remote for the security system is not available separately.

if you paid for a security system they should have given you the remote. you should go back to your dealer and make a fuss til they give you one

Thanks. Pretty neat looking. Sadly the remote control and the key isn't together as one, but I can live with that.

 

If its not a "scion" remote it will not work with your system.Each toyota/scion remote has certain "channels" .If its a black tooyta remote they gave you the wrong one.

As far as not getting the remote seperate you can get them ,sounds to me like the dealer doesnt give a rats ___ now..

 

You can definitely buy those security remotes seperately. Go to the parts department and talk to someone who knows what they are talking about.

We have a good number of those remotes at my dealership, ready for sale (last I checked).
