Default Serious xA trouble!

I've got a 2005 xA, and I have completely fallen in love with it. Too bad that's not the problem. The problem is, the other night when I started up my car (everything seemed normal, no dim lights or warning lights) I went to turn on the headlights. As SOON as I flipped on my headlights, the entire car shorted out. I had two different AAA guys come out, neither could figure out the problem as my battery is fine, but the car could not be jumped. Now mind you, when you go to jump it, there is NO noise, not a peep from the whole car. I towed it back to a dealership, and they haven't gotten back to me at all, so clearly it wasn't a quick fix like a fuse or something.

My question to you guys: has this ever happened to you or anyone you know? Much obliged.

Can't really know till the dealership gives you a call. How many miles did the car have when you got it? I am assuming you bought it used?

So..., its dead? No dome light or anything?

Electrical problems are fun to solve. First I would check the battery, battery posts, clean and remount them. Then check the fuses as well as the fusable link in the battery cable. Not sure what that box is on the positive cable, I am sure its a giant fuse or something.

I havent had any problems, dont believe the prince of darkness had any hand in the design of the electrical system in the scions.

The only 2 problems I have had were self inflicted. Otherwise my '05 has been a rock.

Do you have any aftermarket lights?

Joesph Lucas. He was the inventor of the self dimming headlamp and intermitten wipers. His motto was, get home before dark.

His designs for many european cars used wire that was too small in diameter and often funny things happen and from time to time his circuits cause the magic smoke within the componets out and the circuit quit working.

Sorry, I had an 81 rabbit with his handy work built in wolfenstein, germania.

My 04 has been solid so far the only thing wrong I have had was two broken lug nut studs, and I think that was my fault, still unclear. Other then that it has been a champ, and I am not easy on it either!

UPDATE:

My car has just over 34,000 miles on it, and i bought it brand spankin' new from the dealership. My warranty had expired in march, but since it turns out it was such a weird thing (i'll get to that in a second), Toyota paid for all of it, despite my warranty being expired.

What happened:

SHORT CIRCUT! The only mod's I've done have been adding the scion brand keyless entry/alarm, but I did that through the dealership, and that was two years ago. So basically no one has any idea what could have started it. Hell, Toyota doesn't even know. Turns out the Junction Box (where all your fuses go) was totally fried. How bizarre. Just a freak accident, I guess. But if this happens to your car, bi*ch at Toyota and make them pay for it for free, because it SHOULD NOT EVER HAPPEN!
