Default should i keep the extended warranty?

i got a 2005 rs 2.0 the other day, and am pretty sure i got screwed on the extended warranty. i got charged $2k for only a 3yr/36k mile "bumper to bumper" warranty. obviously its out of the original manufacturer protection, but i am wondering with how reliable scions/toyotas are supposed to be, is it really necessary anyways? and if you opted for an extended warranty, how much did you pay and from where?

Get your money back dont fall for the extended warranty scam many people get them but very very few every use it. And a lot of stuff that may go out will not be covered under the warranty. Use the money and do a tune up on the car there any many DIY's that can help you.

Well it really depends on how much you owe on the car and how much your paying a month for the GAP insurance.

If you know that you will be negative (owe the bank more than the car is worth) then keep the gap insurance.
Check with your insurance company and see if they offer gap insurance then go with whatever is cheaper.

I've never had anything go wrong with my tC, but I used to own a Mini Cooper that blew it's transmission. The transmission was replaced with a new unit, and some other things were repaired at the same time. What would of cost over $4000 only cost me a $50 deduct-able because I got an extended warranty. That being said though I've had this tC almost as long that Mini and I've had no problems.

I just figure I'd rather be safe than sorry.
