Default Spark Plugs

Is there a DIY on the site? I have not been able to find one. I am looking at doing the plugs this weekend.. Im sure its simple but just figured I would look at the process first.

I don't see a DIY, but honestly, it's as easy as changing an air filter. Just remove the engine cover (2 bolts) and you will see the 4 coils and plug wires going into the top of the valve cover. Each coil has 1 fastener (10mm I think) holding it into place. Remove the fastener, pull the coil and the stem will come right off the plug. (You can disconnect the coil if you choose, as shown in the picture). Get your spark plug socket and remover the plug. Gap your new plug, install, pop the coil stem back on and replace the fastener. Repeat 4 times.

If you have ever changed plugs this is super simple. If not, it's still simple enough. Just be gently with all the coils and be sure not to cross thread the plugs.

Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, any chance I could bother you 1 last time.. for the gap? I have been told by the shop that they are already gapped but I want to verify.

Also, yes, it looks like kids play to do them. I have had a few buggers when doing plugs.

After watching the video I still don't know what it does. The comments said something about a better idle.

Sorry, it cleans any carbon deposits.

I did the plugs (ngk iridium ix bkr5eix, oil (5w30 Fully Syn, k&n filter)

While under the car, I realized two things, I didnt have a socket to fit the trans bolt, OR a gasket for the bolt to replace the old one.

I will tackle that tomorrow, hopefully with the HID's if they come today.

But I do have a question, the plugs I took off the car were ngk R bkr5eya
Are those original or have the plugs been done by the previous owner?

Thanks again.
