Standard xA vs. the Release Series
I'm considering going with the release series instead of the standard xA not so much for the asthetic reasons, but for the bigger tires and the vehicle stability control.
Being basically ignorant about what improves performance, ridability, and gas mileage, how would the Release Series be an improvement (performance-wise) over the standard xA?
Those of you who have the Release Series, did you get a chance to drive a standard xA? If so, what differences did you note on how well the car took corners and how smooth the ride was compared to the the standard model. What about gas mileage? Will the difference be significant? I do more stop and go driving than highway miles.
I appreciate your insights since if I go with the xA, it'll cost me an extra $55 a month for 4 years.
Thanks.
Ken

performance wise you only get a muffler tip that i know of and thats about it i love the car personaly everything about it i love the color is just slightly different than the regualr blue and the interior is definetly better. but i have to say if you buy an xA get the alloy rims cause the hub caps look like crap thats pretty much it
Before you get your heart set on the RS, check to make sure that you can get one. I'm pretty sure that they are all gone, and you'd have to buy one used (if you can find one).
Or, you can wait for RS 3.0, which could be out early next year.

The Release Series 2.0 is basically your standard xA with a special edition color, two tone seats, LED lighting enhancements, special Release Series 2.0 floor mats, and a limited edition number badge. There are also a few other goodies available as accessories from your dealer such as a color matched AEM Cold Air Intake and battery Tie down, and special Carbon Fiber B-Pillar appliques.
I love my RS2 to death and wouldn't trade it for anything. It will be with me for many years to come!!

I wonder if its possible to retro-fit the stability control from the RS1 to an RS2? Wonder what the parts list consists of and if it could be had?
Personally, I chose my RS2 over a regular one because it has the side airbags.
