I have been looking for a new home and settled on a condo on a hill with a great view. The down side is that its on a hill and the speed limit is 25mph with cops everywhere. I can not decide what to do about gear selection to drive to and fron the area. If I use 2nd gear I am doing 4 grand, if I pick 3rd gear it seems like its lugging. Going down the hill I use 2nd with the brakes as its rather steep. I had to stop one day and left it in 1st at 15mph yil it leveled out as it felt too steep to change gears.

I guess this is where an automatic works best?
