signed a contract for a new 05 scion xa two weeks ago and the dealer told me there would be an 8-10 week wait. anyone else have a similiar experience ???altough waiting stinks, wanted to know if this was the norm.

 

I was told 8-10 weeks when I ordered my RS2. My wait was 4.5 weeks and definatly worth the wait.

 

hopefully my wait will be cut short like yours!!! anyone else with similiar experience???

 

i ordered my scion xa june 19 and was told ..."sometime in july" after about the second week into july i called the dealership since i hadnt heard from them since i signed my contract and asked to speak with my sales lady and they told me she was on vacation! so i asked if anyone knew if my car was there or not and they said they would get back to me so a few hours later they called and said it should be in any time the 9th.... throught the 12th so after i hadnt heard from them on the 12th i called again to find out it was my sales ladys day off - again theyll call me back when they see if its there well i didnt get it till the next day but after all the confusion there was somehow a mix up at port and my car ended up with a 6 disk cd changer when it wasnt suppose to be there and no one noticed and it was free so i guess it was all worth it

 

at least that's 2 people that got theirs in about half that time. anyone else???

 

I guess there is a summer demand on new cars?
I drove to my dealership in April and went up to the lady and said I'd like an automatic xA in phantom gray.
They had I think 5-7 xAs out that day and roughly 5 xBs

Are you people ordering things with the cars that have to be installed at port, or is this just for the cars themselves?

 

My co-worker wanted the side curtain air bags on her xA. She originally thought they had located a car for her that was in the US and figured it would be there soon. Turned out her car was still at sea, and I think she had a 2-3 week wait, but she did get all the safety features she wanted.

I just bought the car that was on the lot!

 

same as senta. I picked out my two favorite AT xAs and simply went with the one with less mileage.

 

i got the car frist before i signed anything :p

 

I was given 4-6 weeks but it was at a high volume dealership, just ordered it this morning as a matter of fact.

 

Wanted Polar White, Auto, Air Bags. Wait was over seven weeks. I was given a four to eight week estimate.

 

add-ons had nothing to do with the estimate i was given. the dealer told me about the wait before we even discussed options. it was very frustrating that i had to go to 6 dealers in n.j. & pa. before i could even find an xa (or an xb for that matter) to test drive, and it was a used '04 !!

 

i wanted a base automatic model, no add-ons and got it in a weeks time!

 

Wow, all I had to do is tell them to do whatever it took to get me a RS 2.0 and I had one 2 days later... Luckily for me they found one a few states over. Either that, or Arkansas Scion dealers don't play around.

BTW, the RS 2.0 is a gift from God. It rocks.

 

I put my down payment on my Xa today! They only found 1 in the area, and it happens to be polar white. I don't like this color, so they said it will take 4-6 weeks to order one then! ugh. But I would rather wait for the color I want.

 

that was my dilema too.
