Default Washing engine bay with SRI

Haven't had to wash the engine bay since i installed my SRI/filter.

Figure you probably would put a plastic bag over the filter and be a little careful about where you spray.

Anybody have any cool tricks though?

Here's an idea: DON'T SPRAY WATER DIRECTLY ONTO YOUR ENTIRE ENGINE!

Get a wet rag and hand wipe it every time you wash your car. My tC has 33K on it and the engine still looks brand new b/c I do that.

I agree with web - spraying under the hood just scared me. All those wires, fuses, filters, pour spouts. I know it's supposed to be designed to take it, but it still freaks me out.

Wipe it off.

yeah, I just use a damp cloth, after I've wiped down the door jambs, I wipe down the whole engine compartment.

if your filter is oiled dont worry about it. Its designed to repel water. If its a aem dryfilter put a bag over it and hit everything with a hose. Every dealer in the world pressure washes everything. Dont worry about it. I have a k&n cone filter on my race truck and you can hear the mud and water hit the underside of the hood and ive never had a problem

pressure washing is the best way of cleaning the engine and engine bay - every major car dealer pressure washes the cars engine and engine bay - oh and by the way for every one that didnt know keeping the engine and engine bay clean helps with cooling
