Weird Noise while backing up on my XA
If I back up my XA and turn the wheel left or right sharp..and then put it into drive and take of slowly or fast, it makes a rachety click sound..It not the springs, but more like a rachet click sound.. it does it left or a right turn.
driving me bonkers...
anyone.
I though maybe its the disk brakes, adjusting or clicking into place drive forward

Hmmm, well I've heard something like this before. It turned out that the aftermarket wheels this person was running weren't seating fully against the rear drums and holding them in place. The solution was different hubcentric rings. The easy way to check for this is to try and move your brake drums with the vehicle parked. Just reach between your spokes and turn them clockwise and counter clockwise. They should not move at all.
Please remember to do this when the brakes are cool to save your fingertips.
Good luck!

Could be thtat because the wheels are fully turned when it happens that you may not be fully stoped when you are hoing from Reverse to Drive. Also you may not have the selecter fully engauged in the Drive position, and the release of the brake and forward motion "clicks" the selector fully into Drive. Also check the rear drums, and front rorors if you have aftermarket rims, also be sure all the lug nuts are tight.
