Default What made you pick an xA over an Xb?

I'am getting a car in Dec and was wondering what made you pick an xA over the box?
I am undecided over which to get.

I chose an Xb because I'm 6'4" and I liked the room the box afforded.

My reason for getting the xA over the xB...(I bought mines 3 months after they came out in so cali back in 03)

1) I knew it would be the more popular and everyone would get one..

2) To drive the bastard child of scions but make it look nice..

<---Who said I chose one over the other? Seriously though, I did get the xA first. I chose it because it was exactly what I wanted. I was looking for a very small car that got great gas milage, was well made, was sporty looking and was inexpensive. The xA fit the bill perfectly. I love my xA. We got the xB for my wife because she needs the ability to haul a little more cargo. Both are great cars.....just very different from one another.

i grabbed mine late 03' also because i heard about the limited test batch out here in CA so i knew i would be unique. Also for insurance. With no one knowing what a Scion was i got it fully insured as a Echo so it was cheap. And mostly because the Box looks like a retarded soccer mom van and i want to feel young as long as possible

The xA was more of "my style". It had the features I wanted, good aftermarket support, it looks pretty damn good, great gas milage, and it was very affordable.

Another reason would be that they are a rare sight in my area, so, that added another point to the coolness factor.

Well to me....the aftermarket support is wack for the xA owners....there are some...but not as much as xB and tC.

Well, the wife wanted the box but we were buying a car for me, not her, and I wanted something different, everywhere I look up here in Washington I see boxes, not many xA's running around, until of course I got mine then everyone had to have one, lol.

The xA is more sporty
and most importantly I can togue it....well not exactly togue...the real shiz is insane but what am i supposed to say? mountain road it?
and for what i thought wouldve been a better aftermarket support...but were still getting jacked by the xB and TC...booo!!!

I didn't like the Box, there are too many of them, my other commuiter is a Miata and the xA was similar in length. I like the looking out visability in the xA. I like the layout of the xA inside. The list goes on, but in the end I personaly liked the xA more than the other models.

Test drove both, other than the fact that I prefer the xA's look to the xB's....the xA had a bit more "pep".

That's not true. Granted, it doesn't have any where near the rear seat legroom of the xB, but it's not that bad. I'm 5' 11" and if I adjust my driver's seat to where I need it to be, I can get out and sit in the rear seat directly behind the driver and I have enough leg room back there to ride without being cramped. My knees aren't against the backseat or anything like that.

If you are at all a big guy, do NOT get an xA. My wife has an xA. I have the xB. When I get into her xA I feel claustrophobic. It is not a car if you are a big guy..at all. But you'll find that out if you test drive and compare the two.
