It's paid for!!! I mailed the final payment for my xA on Saturday! It's been a few months shy of 3 years and I only have 16,500 miles on it. The best part is that I also purchased the extended warranty so I still have bumper-to-bumper coverage for 4 more years!!! I love my xA. It has been rock-solid. Selling my full-size truck and buying the xA is one of the best decisions I've ever made.

You know it brother! The one that will really be nice to have paid off is the house. I got about 9 more years on that one.

LOL...that would be fun, but I have other plans for the money. We just bought my wife a new car a few months ago. I'm going to send the extra money in on her's so we'll have it paid off in two years. I absolutely hate debt.

I managed to pay my xA off at the end of April (only made one $320 payment on it... still though, Toyota got $211 interest out of me ). We were going through a refinance, and figured it would be best to take out a chunk($10K) to put towards/pay off the xA... considering the interest rate Toyota gave me was 11% vs. the new interest % on the house is 5.5% !!!!!!!!

 

Yep..It's nice to get a low interest rate. Many people don't realize how much difference a few percentage points can make. We locked in on a great fixed rate a few years ago (4.25%) because we took it down from 20 years to 15 years. When we did the math we found that we are saving several thousand dollars in interest. When we bought my wife's new car a few months ago, Nissan was offereing 0.7% on a 3 year loan. By the time we pay her's off we will only have paid about $178 in total interest.

 

Lucky dog! I should be debt free by next month too. :D

 

yeah i have another 5 years to go... but i know how it feels to have a car paid off.

 

on the other hand, it's been a while since I've had a car payment - this is kinda new again!
