Well, if you're traveling fast, dirt and grime just end up further back on the rocker-panel instead of right in the corner.

But, the other day I was checking them out after they had been on there a few days....just to make sure they were still secure, and I noticed a big black glob of grease splattered inside the splash guard that would have otherwise ended up all over my pretty white rocker panel. So, yeah, within reason they work quite well.

However, I was more interested in aesthetics....wanting the front rocker panel area to match the back....being the ****-retentive guy that I am.

Because they are designed for the rear they end up hanging down just a bit more as the front rocker-panel area is naturally lower than the rear bumper area. So that may help some.

You can see the silhouette in this pic.

Just so you know my dealer just installed some fronts and they look great.
They took a chance and ordered some fronts from the microfiche on Scionlife and they fit.
I'll try to get a part number and a picture soon.

Default Front mud flaps

Those rear/front flaps look good; nice job. I, too, have a white '06 xA, noted during the fall how all the wet leaf crap would spray all over the side of the car. Got the rears at my dealer, but was told Scion did not make 'em for the fronts.
Went to AutoZone and bought a pair of black vinyl ones. The are flat, not contoured, but look OK and do the job of keeping the car's sides cleaner. All for about $9.00 and some time on my knees, drilling the holes and mounting the things.
Simple job, the tricky part being getting both in about the same position so they look balanced to the eye.

Do you have some closeup pics of the front flaps on the inside of the wheel well? I just recieved my set and would like to see how you have yours trimmed. Thanks,

I don't really have any close up pix of the inside other than what you see. I just held the mudguard up tightly to the body and began to trim a little bit at a time on the inside bottom area. Cut a little, mount it up, cut some more, mount it up, ect., ect...until it fit right.

I find this thread interesting because I've never thought it that big of a deal. I have a 2004 xA and it came stock from the dealer with front mud flaps but no rears...

Yep the '04/'05 Egg came with front flaps from the factory and rears as a dealer option. But the '06, with it's resigned rocker-panel area, has no front flaps....though the rears are still available from the dealer. So some of us had to get creative.
