Default XA needs some repairs...

So i was driving on the interstate... minding my own business in light traffic. Then the pickup truck infront of me hits a hard bump and this HUGE tire flies off the back of the truck bed onto the road. With a second to react the only thing i could do was drive over instead of running over it with my tire. So i hit this tire with my xa. There is an insanely loud thud and i think i guess it went under me... wrong. So i look in my rear view mirror and see random car parts in the road and no tire.... Well by now im swerving everywhere and smoke is filling up the air in front of me. Im swerving across both lanes becuase my front two tires are barely touching the ground. Somehow i slow this beast down. I pull over and smoke is thick as anything. I run like 10 yards away cause i dunno whats wrong with the car. Well after it gets on the flatbed... o BTW the pickup truck slowed down then drived away... ___... well after its on the flatbed and at the shop i receive the damage report- I need two new front wheel wells, a new front bumper/grill, my radiator was crushed flat, the parts on the ground... were my transmission fluid and brake fluid systems... and other fun stuff. Actually it only came out to like 4,000 in damages but i had to only pay the $ 250 deductable. So yea thats my story, crappy huh? at least i get my car back next wednesday!!!! ill post pics of the freshness

Sorry to hear about your accident but thankful you're OK. I'm sure it was a shock to see that tire coming at you, and having no time or space to respond to it. While it sounds like your xA had various cosmetic and mechanical damage, it sounded like the frame was undamaged. IF there is a silver lining, this is it. Other parts can be replaced or repaired, but a frame damaged car is NEVER the same! Hope the car is fixed to your satisfaction and on the road again soon!

yes, yes.... did you get the plate number and vehicle type? that is what a camera phone is for, emergencies. i know it is the last thing that you think about, but after personally being in an accident that was not my fault and getting the ticket and having a kodak disposable on hand, took one pic while hanging out the window looking and cursing at the person. well to make it short i carry a camera and my insurance company sued his insurance company, also the judge took one look at the pic and told the cop that he waisted the judges time giving me the ticket.

Ouch.

Good work not freaking out and wrecking. Sorry to hear about the damages. What type of tire are we talking about? Was it a big truck tire or more like a semi tire?

WOW!!! Glad you are ok!!! Yeah, if cops were interested in doing their job, they could try to find the truck, but, unless he runs over one of their own, they won't try to get this danger off the road.

Again, glad you were not hurt!
