Xa reminds me of a mini matrix?

Ok, gotta say my 2 cents. Yes I agree the xA does look like a mini matrix, my wife even started thinking about getting one when her lease is up on her Matrix. Only problem is with two small kids the xA just didn't have enough room for carseats. we thought it would be really cool to have an xA and an xB in the driveway. So now she's thinking of another Matix, I haven't driven an xA but I do imagine it would handle better than our Matrix, just because of size, and yes our matrix is a little top heavy. That said, I love our Matrix, we got it because it was a fun car to drive and still could haul our little family around.

Yah i have a 240 and project is going horrible. I have no job so bah. Once i get the job and the 240 is done i will be looking at a track car/auto x car. The Xa looks awsome . Though i really hate the speedo in the middle. Is there anyway mabie to get a little bit bigger engine in there like a 1.8? Or is the 1.5 cramped enough?

speedometer
readen through the post, noone answered about y the speedometer is in the middle.
the answer is that in japan and a few other countries they drive on the other side of the road and on the other side of the car as well. For the car to make it in the US they would have to be driving on the same side as the rest of the cars in the US and it costs money to transfer all the electronics for the gauges etc to the other side of the car. Solution, keep it in the middle.m Hope i helped

Speedo in the middle - yes, in a nutshell, it's one of the ways they are able to bring this baby in at such a low cost. I actually like the speedo in the middle a lot and wish they also went to using credit-card like keys like the cool Renault Megane I drove last week in London had.
From cars.ign.com:
"...these vehicles were developed and produced with Toyota quality standards while at the same time cutting costs by almost an insane 50 percent.
Part of the way costs were cut is by basing the xA and xB off of the Japanese IST and bbX, respectively. Toyota also skipped making costly prototype vehicles and used advanced computer software to develop "simulated" prototypes. Scion vehicles will also share many parts with existing Toyota vehicles, like the Echo's 1.5L 108 hp engine and the Celica's five-speed transmission. "
